ApplianX wins product of the year award

ApplianX recognized for outstanding innovation in INTERNET TELEPHONY® Magazine’s 10th annual product of the year awards

16th January 2008, Milton Keynes, UK – Aculab, a leading provider of enabling technology for the communications market, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation’s (TMC®) INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine (www.itmag.com) has named ApplianX Gateway for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 as a recipient of its 2007 Product of the Year Award.

Working in partnership with Microsoft the ApplianX Gateway for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 is a Microsoft certified ‘basic hybrid’ gateway. This easy to deploy, standards-based SIP-to-TDM gateway, has been specifically designed to allow enterprises to take full advantage of Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 in a mixed IP and TDM environment. It can perform all the functions of the ApplianX IP Gateway, but additionally incorporates the Microsoft Mediation Server in a single ApplianX Gateway device. As such it can significantly lower the total cost of ownership, as fewer components are required.

“Based on leading enabling technology from Aculab, the ApplianX Gateway has been designed to help reduce operational costs, be easy to install and configure and have extensive resilience features” said Faye McClenahan Head of Strategic Marketing. “We have been overwhelmed by the response to our gateway products to date and attaining the Internet Telephony 2007 Product of the Year award further acknowledges that we have correctly interpreted the market need for ‘plug and play’ network appliances”.

“Aculab has proven it is committed to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace. INTERNET TELEPHONY is pleased to grant a 2007 Product of the Year Award to the ApplianX Gateway for Office Communications Server 2007,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC President and Editor-in-Chief of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine. We’re proud to honor their hard work and accomplishments and look forward to more innovative solutions from Aculab in the future.”
